Seasonal Packages - The Awards Package
Just some of the upcoming films in the Awards Package:
The Awards Package delivers the more discerning cinema audience that seeks out critically acclaimed movies during the awards season.
The package will deliver 14 million admissions and kicks off with The Kite Runner on 28 December. Other films in the package include: Lust Caution, Things We Lost in the Fire, Charlie Wilson's War, No Country for Old Men, Sweeney Todd, The Other Boleyn Girl, Vantage Point and Love in the Time of Cholera.
The awards 'season' begins with the Golden Globes (13 January) quickly followed by Sundance (17-27 January) then the BAFTAs (10 February) and the big one, the Oscars (24 February).
The hype surrounding these awards drives cinema admissions, delivering an upmarket audience over the period.
The audience that watches these films is older than both the mainstream cinema audience and the population as a whole - 77% are aged over 25. They are also more upmarket than the mainstream cinema audience with a high proportion of ABC1s (78%).
